New York City Fire Department The New York Fire Department has a responsibility to protect the citizens and property in New York City's five boroughs from fires and fire hazards, provide emergency medical services and technical rescue, and be the first response to chemical, biological and radioactive hazards. The department's Bureau of Fire Prevention conducts nearly 200,000 inspections annually for different establishment types, and issues nearly 50,000 violations, previously using various paper forms. FDNY wanted to automate the inspection and reporting process through the use of mobile devices, so they came to our partner, Global Bay. Using the GBmobile platform, FDNY consolidated over 50 different inspections into one inspection application. This ensured that all inspection types, inputs and results were consistent and standardized. Inspectors are now also able to access historical inspections and summons data, escalate high-risk issues, and view detailed information and route schedules with travel directions. How can I relate? While your fire department probably isn't the size of New York City's, we can still help save money and reduce tedious duplication of work your inspectors have already done. By Eliminating the Clipboard, we save your inspectors time on the front end, and we save you time on the backend transcribing paper forms into existing computer systems. |
